As a disc golfer (don’t even think about calling it frolf), I’m a bit of a "ball golf" novice, and my knowledge around the sport has been mostly gleaned from incessant rewatches of Happy Gilmore. So when I found out I’d be working on bringing Orlando’s Signature Event to life, you could say I welcomed the challenge. Or you could say I was totally nervous, which is a bit more accurate.
But under the guidance of senior account manager and avid golfer Chris McEntee and veteran APIer/senior art director Caroline Boswell, I got into the swing of things just in time to ramp up for the tournament –– creating social, web, and email copy from the first player commit through Kurt Kitayama's heartstopping penultimate putt.
Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to the 2024 tournament. But for now, it's back to disc golf.
